Fender Jazzmaster’s 60th Anniversary

In honor of this iconic guitar’s 60th Anniversary and considering it is a fave model of modern guitarists, I though I would repost this. I have replaced the video links that have been removed since  the original. Also, when I originally reviewed the J. Mascis model for Guitar Moderne, I sent it back even though I really wanted it. I have just rectified that mistake.

Reeves Gabrels in His Nashville Habitat

Current Cure guitarist, Reeves Gabrels was a resident of Nashville for many years. These days, on breaks from touring and recording with The Cure, the former Bowie sideman is prone to perform at the new location of his former hangout, The Family Wash. They tell me those kinds of headlines attract web traffic, but I believe this actually may be the ultimate Reeves Gabrels interview. An occasional resident of Nashville, the former Bowie, current The Cure guitarist was able to sit down with me for two extensive sessions, during which he was courageously candid about his life, exquisitely detailed about his gear, and immensely interesting in his ideas about music and the art of making it.
