New Wireless MIDI Controller for Acoustic Guitars

The ACPAD is a wireless MIDI controller for acoustic guitars. It was created as collaboration between Berlin-based musician Robin Sukroso and techies at the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) in Bombay. The ACPAD is a stick-on interface with no wires or screws. It is powered by a rechargeable battery, charged through a USB connection. The USB also connects it via MIDI to a computer for processing and looping. The device is capable of wireless MIDI connection as well. The ACPAD can be customized, and its 2mm thick design means extremely low acoustic dampening properties. Sukroso is taking the product to Kickstarter. Here’s hoping they soon develop an electric version as well.
