I have been following Deimel Guitarworks on Instagram for a while. With creative wiring, pickups behind the bridge, and Piezos embedded at various points in the guitar, Frank Deimel has been in the forefront of creating instruments for experimental guitarists. His latest, the Firestar LesLee Synchronizer, combines a fascinating, built-in Leslie effect created by automatically switching between pickups, as well as the ability to synch with modular synths, or any device that uses CV.
Aldo is a French musician based in London. He gets some unique sounds by processing his guitar through a Make Noise 0-Coast semi-modular synth. At $499, it is not cheap, but it is no more than many multi effects pedals and way cooler. Check out his video channel for interesting guitar tones in an electronic context.
If you have witnessed the growing modular synth craze and wondered how guitar might fit in, Emiliano Bagnato shows one way here. For any who have difficulty understanding his video narration, his written explanation below should help.
