I interviewed Jonathan Crossley a year ago and described him as the poster boy for modern guitar, due to his experimentation with haptic control. He is now focusing on laptop software to create aleatoric loops with which he and his trio can improvise. I highly recommend his new record, Inhale and that you go back and watch the first interview here, along with the performance videos, either before or after. If you are interested in the possibilities of modern guitar you must check him out.
i re-signed up for the email alerts because i hadn’t received one in so long. i didn’t realize you were going through these monumental changes. congrats on the relocation and happy you’re getting around again after the fall. big thanks for continuing to provide such inspiring content!
Thanks Erin. It is good to be back
Wow didn’t know either! Glad you are ok! Genuinely hope and pray for a quick full recovery if not experienced already!
Thanks David. I doing well.
Students aren’t curious because of… Spotify?
It’s an ongoing discussion, but possibly Spotify drives them to things they already like rather than stimulating curiosity about new things.
