The Oz Noy Interview

Oz Noy and I go back 20 some years. From the beginning, it was obvious that he was unfettered by the limitations of technique—the guy could play anything from SRV blues to avant sonic explorations. We talk about his new record with Dennis Chambers and Jimmy Haslip, the second Ozone Squeeze record, and much more.

  1. listening to you guys break down these tracks was enlightening and entertaining. the behind the beat discussion was especially well articulated. to hear you both go from neil young to dilla in that span was so insightful. another great example of behind the beat melodic playing i think would be willie nelson. sneaking in those leads on trigger waaaay behind the beat. what a great feel! thank you as always for a great interview.
