New Looper on the Loose: Glou-Glou Loupé

Good news for fans of hardware looping: there is a new kid on the block. The company Glou-Glou has released the Loupé: Creative Looper & Delay pedal. Lovers of the Gibson/Oberheim EDP looper should be especially interested. It is already sold out but the next batch is available for pre-order. Check out the videos and see what you think.

Loupé is a 48kHz/24-bit Stereo looper with nine assignable switches that can be controlled with hands and feet. The functions control how and when recorded takes place, how and when playback occurs, and what effects will be applied to the loop. You can save combinations of switch assignments into presets called “Games.”

  1. Looks and sounds great. The 2 features I tend to use for ambient material are pitch and reverse. They don’t seem easily accessed… can they be re-assigned to a button?

    • In Loupe, you can configure a preset bank (called a “game”) with any combination of functions you like, and they can be assigned to any footswitch or button. Reverse and pitch shift can be accessed and implemented in a variety of destructive and/or non-destructive ways. They fall under the category of “ReadFX,” which involves messing with loop playback in various ways.
